Cleaning my Organ! (Matron!)

Sunday, November 18, 2007

Remember to lock your door if you still live with the folks...

The above raised a, titter!!!

Otherwise it was:

  • Free carrots and onions at Sainsburys, plus a £5 voucher!
  • She by H. Rider Haggard knocked off. Good non-PC fun-bags.
  • Wuthering Heights knocked off in a week. Quite a jolly jape really.
  • Xmas lights erected overnight in the week. Loads of overtime for the Council tree erectors and fairy drapers outside my window.
  • Playing Be-Bop Deluxe and Noel Coward
  • Spurred myself on to dismantle the Casio MT-65 organ and remove the accumulated cider, fluff and fag ash that have somewhat compromised my instrument's performance of late. You wouldn't believe the amount of screwing and lubricating involved in the job. All the individual keys, rubber bits and bobs and switches. Haven't cranked it up yet... fingers crossed.
  • Telecaster got an airing this morning; first time in months, so you never know... although the Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in my right hand is getting worse. Thankfully it's up to a strum and arpeggio. Good job I had the left one done successfully a couple of years back.
  • Italian B-Movie horrors on Internet Archive. Hurrah! Still pisses me off that I don't get a reliable connection and never approaching even 1Mbps, despite my "up to 8Mbps" subscription. Bastards!
  • Still no Pilchards at Sainsburys.
  • Fair old bit of slash and burn over the past couple of weeks, but all Micropore-taped within 24 hours. Works better than Steri-Strips for reducing the scarring, and it stays on!!! Despite my profuse sweating. Which is the best recommendation.

Tara a bit,

Get On Board!

We're The Double Deckers!

I fancied Tiger! (Well she was an older woman for me at the time!) Of course Brinsley Forde went on to fame with Aswad!

Christ knows why I posted that... just for the nostalgic hell of it I guess! Also due to InternetArchive's Flowplayer (I can't understand it!) obsession.

This week? Incommunicado somewhat, with the Coop on my back; I subsequently discovered that they have accepted my offer to them and frozen interest. Now how come when I first sent a budget to them, they wouldn't countenance it and kept the interest 'low', dunno. Your caring, sharing, as-long-as-you're-solvent Coop.

Finished off Samuel Richardson's 'Pamela' which was pretty nifty, although could have done with a severe editing out of all the sychophancy between Pamela, her hubby and all the neighbours! (Will hit the 'Shamela' parody soon'). Currently onto John Buchan's 'Greenmantle' which is ok as it goes, rather dated, terribly un-PC and full of those Dickensian coincidences! The choice between H Rider Haggard's 'She', 'Wuthering Heights' and Philip Larkin's 'Jill' awaits.

Ah well... Altogether now... 'Get on board! Get on board!...'
