Dr Who? My arse!

Saturday, June 24, 2006

What the fuck have those bastards done to my childhood? No! No! No! No! No!

Dr Who was, and always will be, for me, Jon Pertwee, '72 - '74. Sorry and all that. Never liked Tom Baker's era. Guess we all remember with most fondness our first Dr and so moi. But I remember the huge anticlimax of 'Giant Robot' (first Baker story) and I'm afraid it didn't really get much better, despite the resurge of popularity. Dr Who for me will always be the Target books that I collected (and had from '64 to '77, in order and with a synopsis in my head) and the Pertwee years from '72 - '74. This new series isn't the same programme. Neither was the execrable McGann. At least the McCoy (Tiswas), Baker (McGrath), Davidson (Tristan Farnon) incarnations were believable for those pre and mid-teens. Ho hum.

Every Bad Girl Deserves An Erection

Rotten Boroughs

This job ad in the Chronicle & Echo would appear to prove what we all suspected about local government.

Every Bad Girl Deserves An Erection is a mnemonic self and Lorraine came up with last week when I gave her a guitar lesson. She picked up four basic chords darn quickly (Dolce & Gabanna plus Accident & Emergency, lol) and has quite a natural bent it would seem.

Apologies for the huge delay in updating. I've been a trifle down and dumpy but nothing too serious.

I resolve to write some old bollocks or other before too long.
