Cleaning, cleaning, cleaning... Just how much cleaning can a guy do in a one-bedroom flat? I've done about everything except hoovering and, shock-horror, those stubborn marks on the walls. Note to self: always put hand behind candle when extinguishing and avoid BluTac on walls like the proverbial! Yupperz, I've got candle wax and BluTac stains to tackle :o/ On the bright side, I checked the original inventory/inspection report on this place from 3 years ago and there were plenty of scuffs and carpet stains listed, phew!
Yesterday an African guy came to view this place and seemed very keen. Really hope he takes it cuz I really could do without forking out rent on two flats for the next three months! I was a little pissed-off cuz the letting agents didn't tell me there was a viewing, so I was unshaven, having a bad hair day, no, scratch that, a bad everything day! and the flat looked like a heap of shite as I was just starting the cleaning shit. Ah well, it's not like I wanted to shag the hunky African guy after all (although I'll give him the humping of his life if he takes the place!).

Btw, wtf is wrong with Radio4 today? Ever since last night all I'm getting is screeching on the usual frequency, it's a real pisser! I seem to recall that, spookily, this always seems to happen when the clocks go back around Halloween. Weird shit...

John Peel R.I.P

Just heard the news. The end of an era spanning 5 decades. From Hendrix, through Prog-Rock, Punk, Reggae and dub, Ska, Madchester, Ambient and on into 21st century JP was always ahead of the game. He exposed countless thousands of music fans to new, quality sounds that (I admit) we didn't always understand let alone like at the time but months, sometimes years later it made sense and we realised that once again JP had his finger on the zeitgeist. Never creating or hyping a trend, just picking up on the embryonic stage and somehow seeing the potential of each movement and band he gave air-time to.

A true English institution and a sad loss to us all.

Best wishes to Sheila and the family.

Thank fuck for credit cards!

I'm not made of fucking money!!! Fuck me sideways with a barge-pole, this moving lark is getting more expensive as each day goes by. A few hundred to re-market this place, hundred to get a phone line in the new place, a thousand upfront in deposits and rent for the new place, couple of hundred for the removal blokes, fifty for my credit check, fifty for the inventory visit, a few hundred a month rent for this place until Jan 2005 or it is re-let etc etc etc....

So..... I'm afraid it'll be an orange and a bag of nuts for everyone this yuletide.

Any donations to Andy's moving fund gratefully accepted.

This weekend is an endless round of cleaning and writing change-of-address letters (as will be the next 10 days). Next weekend will be packing, weekend after.... I'll be moved in!!! Hoorah!

On my last evening in Bulgaria we had Rossi, Katia and Slavi over for a Chinese which was really nice, relaxing and fun. Of course Andy ends up playing this strange card game with little 5 year old Slavi while sitting on the balcony with a can of Kamenitsa. It was a little tricky for a little Bulgarian kid who speaks little English to teach me, with little Bulgarian, how to play this crazy game of monsters and magic!

But hey, we managed ok. My favourite character was of course....

.... snigger, snigger! Oh! Matron!

Ah well, have to skedaddle as I'm off tarting about in Wellingborough today, catching up with contacts and doing the networking thing.
